Baupläne

With the N-20.2 Arbalète, new ground was broken in several respects.

While the design of a flying wing had been explored in other countries, the concept of a tapered wing geometry was still in its infancy. With a maximum speed of 720 km/h, the flight envelope surpassed that of many aircraft built before. Wood was chosen as the construction material – a proven composite that had already proven reliable in numerous aircraft both locally and internationally.

At the same time, however, a step was taken into the jet age: the propulsion system was to consist of jet engines. And not just one, but four.

Projekt Arbalète

Why should it not be possible to build and fly this unique aircraft once again?

How much better are our modern calculation and manufacturing methods compared to paper, pencil, and slide rule?

We want to find out and are convinced that it is worth the attempt.
