Main bulkheads

The center fuselage section carries two seriously dimensioned bulkheads. They will be attached to the main wing  spars and transfer the wing forces to the fuselage.
The U-shaped design is built from spruce sheets which are glued over a template.

The spruce sheets needed to be preformed by steam, pulled over the template and the left to dry out for several days. Only then the actual glueing process could begin.

My first attempt was a failure because I underestimated the time for the glueing and ran out of pot life. Back to square one.  Splitting the job in two stages, letting cure the first 10 layers before carrying on, worked well. The billet is ready for milling.
