Vertical Fin Attachment

The Attachment of the Tail Fin to the Fuselage is Complete

The tail fin has been precisely positioned using lasers to ensure millimetre-perfect alignment, and then drilled. In total, there were 41 (forty-one!) holes that needed to be drilled and then reamed. Unfortunately, my high-end SnapOn drill didn’t make it through this task.

The construction itself is a true piece of engineering. However, the reasoning behind the asymmetric design and the bracing remains somewhat unclear to me.

Now, I’m eager to see if the positioning of the holes for the control cables is spot on.

Update - 28 October 2021: The tail rudder control cables fit perfectly through the holes.
