All work on the stabiliser and rudder has been completed, and the parts are now ready for painting. The gap covers posed a particular challenge. The scarf jointing of the 2mm thick Resocell sheets along the entire length was not satisfactory when done by hand. Only after I built a special fixture did the joints come out perfectly. Similarly, for bonding the covers to the stabiliser, creativity was required to ensure the remaining gap between the fin and the cover was a consistent 1mm.
