Rudder static compensation

The weight for the static compensation of the rudder is attached to the top end of the control surface. It contains two lead profiles nicely hidden under a composite cover.

The lead profiles were cast in a mould with plenty oversize. This allows proper balancing once the rudder is painted.

The negative mould and core for the composite cover were built on the 3D printer. The advantage of composite building is once you have the mould you can build the pieces in numbers. It took me three laminating attempts before the result turned out acceptable.
