The rudder section is separated from the fin. It is firmly held in a box to avoid any distortion while adding the leading edge structure. Shaping the ribs to their exact round size was challenge. This is when my 3D printer came into action.  With the help of templates I was able to shape the ribs in no time. 
I keep wondering how they did that in 1951?
